Catherine Moore in an actor, voice artist, writer and acting coach who has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. She is a graduate of VCA, where she received the Irene Mitchell Award for Most Outstanding Actor. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Literature from Curtin University.

As a writer and creator she performed in the self-devised cabarets Weill Women and A Jaques Brel Cabaret. Weill Women won Pick of the Fringe at the Melbourne Fringe Festival and earned a Green Room nomination. Catherine has been involved in numerous creative developments across Australia, including workshopping and performing in new Australian works under the guidance of Kristin Linklater and Edward Albee and workshopping and performing in new works by Alana Valentine. Catherine has collaborated with Mark Kilmurry, Artistic Director of Ensemble Theatre Sydney on numerous new works, one of which was adapted into a film, Being Gavin.

In 2018, Catherine and her writing partner Genevieve Hegney were commissioned by Ensemble Theatre to write a play based on a TV script they had been shopping around. Catherine and Genevieve co-wrote and performed in Unqualified and the show was both a critical and commercial success. They were commissioned to write a sequel, Still Unqualified which was performed in September 2022 and enjoyed equal success and praise.

They have recently received funding from Screen West and Screen Australia to adapt Unqualified for television.

They are currently working on a new commission for Ensemble, about the trailblazing aviatrix, Deborah Lawrie, Fly Girl, which is part of Ensemble’s 2025 season. Fly Girl recently won the Blake Beckett Trust Female Playwrights Award. Catherine and Genevieve are also in the process of contracting with a prominent production company to adapt Fly Girl into a TV series. Most recently they were tasked with punching up their gal pal Celeste Barber’s new comedy special, Back Up Dancer.
