Timothy Hobart is a drama development executive, showrunner, screenwriter and producer of nearly 50 hours of prime-time television for Foxtel, Netflix, ABC, SBS, HBO Germany, Network Seven and Channel Ten. Working as a drama development executive for both Fremantle Media and Matchbox Pictures for over ten years, he has developed, written, script-produced and script-edited many dramas, including Killing Time, Wentworth, Better Man, Nowhere Boys and the International Emmy nominated Wanted. He also co-created, co-wrote and co-produced Hungry Ghosts for SBS. 

Since leaving his position as drama development executive for Matchbox Pictures, he has been working as a development and script producer on various shows for HBO Germany, BMG Deutschland, Guesswork Television and Lingo Pictures. As part of these development deals, he has created and developed his own psychological thriller for BMG Deutschland.

He also works as a mentor for new and emerging writers across Australia and particularly in rural NSWs. Following Wanted’s nomination for the International Emmy for Best Drama, he has been a juror for the Academy several times, including the 2024 Best Drama Category.
